Frequently Asked Questions
Common questions about building with Inlet Structures.
An outdoor room is a compact structure (under 20 sqm) designed for light personal use such as a workspace, creative studio, or relaxation area-installed efficiently on your property without the need for traditional building methods.
In NSW, outdoor rooms under 20sqm that meet a 1m boundary setback are often classed as exempt development. However, use restrictions apply-typically not for sleeping or full-time living unless later approved. Always check with your local council, as rules can vary by area.
From the time we receive your deposit, most projects are completed to lockup stage within 1–2 weeks. On-site work typically takes about 1 week.
Our rooms are built using a welded galvanised steel base, Surfmist 50mm coolroom panels for the walls, and a 75mm (140mm total) Monument corrugated roof.
Yes, the electricals come pre-installed on one panel and include all standard safety protection, a power point, and a plug-and-play power inlet. You can power the room using a 10amp outdoor extension cord.
No slab is needed. We raise and level a galvanised steel base over most ground types, providing a long-lasting and stable foundation. If you already have a concrete slab, we can also install directly on top of it.
Yes, all our standard sizes can be relocated using a crane. If you're planning to move the room regularly, we recommend choosing a design that is 3 metres wide-this can be transported more affordably on a tow truck (if access allows), without needing a crane.
Extremely. Our walls and roofs are made from insulated sandwich panels (EPS core with Colourbond steel skins) commonly used in commercial cool rooms and architectural cladding. They are waterproof, thermally efficient, and durable.
All products we use come with their own manufacturer warranties, and we provide a 1-year workmanship warranty. That said, we're always happy to help if any issues arise beyond that.
Everything, except for delivery charges which are usually in the range of $400–$1,500 extra in Sydney and surrounding areas.
